Beach Reflections
One of the greatest things about photography is the ability to capture a moment that often lasts only a few seconds, and is witnessed by only a handful of people, and make it permanently available to those who were not able to see it in person.
On a recent trip to San Diego, while photographing the Oceanside Pier, I noticed these reflections on the beach. The sunset was peaking through the pier pylons, giving extra dimension to the reflection of the colorful sky. The combination of the water receding, the sun through the pylons, and the colorful reflections lasted only long enough for me to capture a couple of exposures before the rising tide erased the view. A serene peaceful view was hastily captured before it could only be a memory for the few that saw it.
