I started my photographic journey in 1997 in San Diego, California. At Grossmont College, I studied fine art photography and quickly fell in love with it. In the pre-digital age, I learned traditional black and white photography using the zone system, spending endless hours in the darkroom.

While my background was in fine art, black and white photography, I soon started to work for local newspapers. I first moved into the digital age in 1999 while interning for San Diego sports photographer JT Lovette.

My photographic journey brought me to Portland Oregon where I interned for The Portland Tribune and PGE Park. I later became the primary photographer for PGE Park.

In 2007, I made the difficult decision to change careers, and became a helicopter pilot. Since then my aviation career has brought me all over the world, including Afghanistan and Guyana. I currently reside in Mooresville, North Carolina, where I am a Helicopter Air Ambulance Pilot.

In my free time, I still enjoy getting out in nature and returning to my roots of fine art photography.
